In aid of an SLS member
The ARDCI NGO Group Inc. in one of its socio-corporate activities, handed over late this year, a brand new wheelchair to Marites Tura, a long time SLS member in Almojuela, right in her home in Almojuela, Viga, Catanduanes when her right leg was amputated. SLS Chairperson Eduardo Tura welcomed the ARDCI group led by CEO Danny Tiburcio, Operations Head Alma Villanueva and her Assistant, Mr. Amadeo Alcantara, and BM Mon Tolledo.
This is striking the core of social responsibility even in modest gestures. The lesson that we have learned in 15 years working with our SLS clients especially in the remote villages where we operate is that an institution that manages to grow and mature by time, must always look down deeply in order to survive.
We commend Marites, who even in her amputated leg, assures her unwavering support to ARDCI; this not just lip serving but physically in any means possible as SLS member. Many more Marites in our areas are silently and bravely entrusting their commitment to the institution for 15 years now.
Marites’ devotion to the ARDCI advocacy all through these years as an SLS member, gives us more inspiration as your stewards of this institution. Her constancy is a working lesson not drawn in the pages of a book. It is drawn right in the heart. This is what we aim in ARDCI beyond the letters of micro-financing, or even beyond the physical tenure of the institution.
