ARDCI –Vision Bank regularly sponsor
community feeding program with LGU
The proof of the pudding is in the eating. So the cliché goes well with ARDCI-Vision Bank in getting their social responsibility felt down the households. In line with Nutrition Month celebration, a joint effort of ARDCI (Agricultural and Rural Development for Catanduanes, Inc.) and its component bank, the Vision Bank in Bato, realized the feeding activity in Magnesia del Sur last July 20, 2010.
ARDCI NGO Group Incorporated Chief Executive Officer, Danny Tiburcio led the feeding activity with key officers and personnel. He was assisted by Operations chief Alma T. Villanueva, Vision Bank Manager Gerry T. Ang, and FASU Head, Evelyn Teves, among others.
More than half a hundred residents with their pre-school children went on the barangay plaza, 3:00 p.m. of same day for the feeding activity which was also mixed with raffle and parlor games for both children and adults. ARDCI and Vision Bank gave out goodies, school supplies and food stuff to the constituents present.
Speaking in behalf of Barangay Captain Bong Bautista, Barangay Council member Jocelyn Vargas thanked both the ARDCI and the Vision Bank for the usual support it gave to Magnesia del Sur with this activity.
This year’s celebration had the theme, “Sa Pagkaing Tama at Sapat, Wastong Timbang ni Baby and Katapat.” It gave weight on the “importance of giving complementary foods starting at 6 months while continuing breastfeeding as a strategy to promote nutrition and health among children, and thereby prevent malnutrition.”
ARDCI –Vision Bank has been regularly tapped by the Provincial Government as one of its cooperating partners during Nutrition Month’s feeding activities in July.
On its part, ARDCI-Vision Bank continues to fill its social responsibility in various capacities as gleaned from the partnership programs it has done through the years as the largest and pioneer micro-finance institution in the province.
