ARDCI Members elect new set of Board Trustees
A new set of trustees took their seats March 25, 2011 with Oscar V. Alfaro of Panganiban, Catanduanes chosen as president of the nine seat board.
Alfaro has been in the board for several non-successive terms already, and will serve as its president for the fourth time since ARDCI was established in 1998.
Joining Alfaro are Mario Dayawon (Baras, Catanduanes) as Vice President; Emma De Las Llagas (Camarines Sur) as Secretary; Cristy Coronejo (Pandan, Catanduanes) as Treasurer; Rogelio Sales
(San Andres, Catanduanes) as Auditor; Marilyn Carillo (Sorsogon); Edeña Llandelar (Albay); Josefina Abundabar (Camarines Sur); and Adela Camacho (Baras, Catanduanes) as members.
After having amended its by-laws to include in the board representatives from Mainland Bicol (it used to be that the board was composed only of members from Catanduanes since ARDCI was initially
instituted for the province), the board's composition has now been modified to include 5 seats from Catanduanes and 4 seats from Mainland Bicol.
Trustees are pre-qualified based on the following criteria:
1. They should have been members for five years before the elections;
2. They should be active SLS (savings and loans system) chairpersons during the election period;
3. Their SLS should be "QM" (quality membership) with 100% repayment, savings, and insurance contributions rates; and
4. They should not have been convicted with finality by the courts for criminal or civil offenses.
The newly sworn-in president vowed to continue ARDCI's thrusts while strengthening its social responsibility programs, especially for its more than 56,000 members.
