Encash
I almost missed this week’s feature, and I had to rouse from my sleep this midnight to catch up for the Tribune’s cut-off on Saturdays. My out of town work schedule, and this week’s festivities in connection
with the 65th Catanduanes Foundation Anniversary seemed to have occupied the front seat, so to speak.
In a lighter vein, ARDCI NGO Group Inc. actively participated during the civic military parade with almost perfect attendance of our men and women who came all the way from the different field
branches just to march the streets of Virac in that once in a year historic occasion. I feel proud as a Catandunganon that the ARDCI NGO Group Inc., which has spread all throughout Bicol and started to
conquer part of the Southern Luzon areas now, is an institution that we can call as solely Catanduanes’ pride, its home and originator.
In behalf of ARDCI NGO Group Inc., I wish to join the rest of Catandunganons in fervent delight and pride in this year’s edition of Catandungan Festival, with the theme, “Kalikasan, Kalusugan, Kabuhayan:
Sulong Catandungan!”. This annual festivities’ edition is another overwhelming success. The ARDCI NGO Group continues to commit its humble cooperation in whatever means possible with the Local
Government, especially under the very able stewardship of Governor Joseph “Boboy” Cua and Vice Governor Jose “Bong” Teves Jr.
Last week, I was able to update our readers on the putting up of a non-bank ATM system in Viga, the first so far in the province of Catanduanes. This hoped to replicate the same initiative in the northern
towns of Caramoran –Pandan as I wrote in my last week’s column. This was made possible through ENCASH, our partner entity in this project.
ENCASH stands for Electronic Network Cash Tellers, Inc. ( guess, I forgot to spell that out last week). ENCASH Network Services (ENS), the Philippines’ first Independent ATM Network, gained acceptance
since 2007 by MegaLink, one of the country’s foremost ATM network companies. This is a breakthrough for an Independent ATM Network that was approved entry by any local Shared-ATM Consortium.
ENCASH Network Services (ENS) currently has four of the country’s most prominent rural banks as its members, namely GM Bank, the second largest in Nueva Ecija; Bank of Florida, the largest in Pampanga; Bangko Kabayan, the largest
in Batangas; and 1st Valley Bank, the fourth largest rural bank in the entire Mindanao. ENS has a combination of the latest hardware and software to provide members a secure, advanced, modern, and
flexible ATM service, which in turn brings world-class services to cardholders.
ENS, the country’s only independent ATM Transaction Processor, also allows member banks to enjoy
the benefits of advanced ATM services without having to make the significant investments required for a 24/7 operation. The software has u/Switchware in its latest release, 3.11. Among its many unique
capabilities, u/Switchware Release 3.11 supports the latest standards of security such as 3DES, EMV (for “Smart” cards) and RSA. In contrast, many Philippine commercial banks are still on the older, soon-obsolete single DES standard.
